2010 All-Star Rebrand

Before you read this, i know there was not an all-star game this year, and i know crosby is on both jerseys. I just put it on there so you could tell they are for the same event and either team can be home/away. I know some of you might be wanting a Olympic rebrand instead of this, just wait, we have my self and another artist working on that. More later.

Everything you have seen for the rebrands i have made so far. This is my most resent one and the last one i am posting! I used the theme the NHL has been since RBK took over the jerseys. Red, white, and blue or the all-star game. I think it tooked great when the teams had white gloves and i think these would look even cooler on the ice. I did not put much time into a logo as you can see but i did for the jerseys. I have a really modern jersey with stars coming up the side and swushes on the sleeve. The stars continue and gow down the side of the pants for a great look. I even used white pants for the west. All matching and clean for both teams.

2010 Winter Classic Rebrand

For the 2010 Winter Classic, i did not change teams, just uniforms. It is still the Bruins and Flyers in Boston. Don't worry, I'll have way more 2011 concepts in the future. Well, lets get this over with, coming from a Flyers fan.

For Boston, i used one of the teams first jerseys. It was used in the 1930s. I did not change much but i modernized a few small details. The different color socks come back but still not much of a difference.

For the Flyers, i went in a very different direction. The Flyers don't have much of a past because the entered the NHL so much later than the bruins. The jerseys they ended up wearing are really all they could do. But i used a white version of the teams orange 3rd jersey used in 2000. I also added the black name plate to add a more classic and traditional look. This would probably not happen because the orange version of this jersey most Flyers fans agree was the worst one they have used.

Anaheim Ducks Rebrand

Some might call this the "mighty" rebrand. For those of you new to hockey history, the team used to be the "Mighty Ducks" but they lost the "Mighty" a few years back. They used the colors you see below. The colors the team has now are just terrible, black, green, gold, orange, and white. I used the old colors with a current logo. The team doesn't even have a logo...it just says "DUCKS" across the chest. They will be getting a new jersey next season if you saw Icethetics today.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tomorrow will be the last post for the rebrands. More information will be listed Thursday or Friday about the future of Enforced Logos...

Atlanta Thrashers Rebrand

We all know the Thrashers have WAY too many colors going on. They have baby blue, dark blue, gold, white, and even maroon, crazy! I tried to minimize that and make the team look less...dark and spooky. I used more light blue and white for the team. I used less gold and blue and lost the maroon completely. The two logos are ones the team has already used. The primary logo is the "T" bird, but I lightened up the colors. The other logo, the bird head forming an "A", was found on Sports Logos, but I don't think the team has officially used it. Anyone know? I also changed those colors. The jerseys are a version of the old and new jerseys the team uses/used. Baby blue is used at home and white on the road. The 3rd jersey is a dark blue jersey with "Atalanta Thrashers" on both sleeves. I used that because I think it is unique to the team, but is better with the name of the team and city on only the 3rd jersey.

Boston Bruins Rebrand

If you are following Icethetics, you would have seen yesterday's post about the team's Winter Classic jersey. I want to avoid the 2010 Winter Classic as much as possible, but I love the Bruins jerseys. I would not have picked them for the Winter Classic, but I love the colors. I am not a fan of black, yellow, and white, but I love the yellow, brown, and white they used for the Winter Classic, so I used those colors. The logo I used is a improved EXlogo the team once had. It used to just be a "B". I added a brown outline and added the "hub" for the primary. The home and away jerseys are pretty simple, but bold at the same time. I think the brown and yellow is a memory of the years when they won the Cup. On the home jersey I used brown on dark brown numbers. I don't like the single color numbers on the back of the jerseys. I think it looks dull and not thought through. I think I did add more texture. The 3rd jersey looks very classic, but is not a jersey they have worn. I love the yellow base color and added white and brown alternating sleeves.

Buffalo Sabres Rebrand

I'm in a good mood. Here is today's second post. So many fans hate the Sabres' current "slug" logo. The team's 3rd jersey is amazing and the logo is even better. The team did what I am trying to do more and more. They used a classic logo, and made it modern my adding more color, sharpness, and detail. I used that logo for my crest and I used the pierced "B" for the secondary logo. The jerseys are supposed to look like a modern 3rd jersey the team is wearing. Not much different, but the changes I made just make it better. The 3rd jersey looks a lot like the home and away, but I didn't want to use an unnecessary color like silver or yellow/gold.

Calgary Flames Rebrand

More rebranding! I said this in my last post, we are flying though theses! After this post we only have four teams left plus the All Star rebrand and the Winter Classic rebrand.

Anyway, here are the Flames. I didn't demolish the black, but I did, however, lessen it from what the team currently has. I slightly changed the color of the logos and made one red and one yellow. The home and away jerseys kind of look like the jerseys they have now, but with full stripes, not stripes that just stop. As I said before, I used less black on the home and away, but then you get to the 3rd jersey. I tried to make it a classic look for a modern team. The team's current 3rd jersey is just a throwback, I used new, but classic for a 3rd jersey.

Carolina Hurricanes Rebrand

We have been rolling through the rebrands in the past week. Today we have the Canes. I kept the primary logo, but slightly changed the shape to make it look more like a hurricane. The secondary logo the team is currently using is a hockey stick with a hurricane warning flag waving on it in front of a triangle. I took elements from that to make my logo. I used a red "CH" with a waving hurricane coming from the "H". I added a black triangle behind it and but little gray wind marks on the letters and on the word mark. The jerseys are pretty simple, a few stripes on the lower sleeves and the hurricane warning flags across the bottom. I used black for the 3rd with a secondary logo and added more flags going down the sleeve.

Chicago Blackhawks Rebrand

I spent the second most time on the Blackhawks than i have any other team (behind the flyers). After all they are my favorite two teams. They have also gone through an uncountable number of changes in logos, jerseys, and even colors. I will add those to the blog on a later date. I thought when i first started rebranding the Blackhawk's primary colors should be black. It is in the name. But i was convinced to keep the tradition somewhat and use red. Lots of thought went into these jerseys. I have only 2 color stripes on the sleeves on the home and road. I did this because they need more space for the shoulder logo. On the 3rd jersey, the secondary logo is the crest. So there was nothing on the shoulders and i could add more stripes. The logo is the least traditional part of the whole rebrand. It uses the same shape as the current logo but has a few differences. It looks meaner, more modern, and loses the unnecessary colors. I did the same with the secondary logo. I used the tomahawks crossing the "C" but chagned the colors and made it look more fitting for the team. I will add a comparison to the logos i made and the logos that are currently being used to the facebook page later.

Colorado Avalanche Rebrand

The Avalanche are also in the running for the best logo in my opinion. Many people don't know or understand what the logo really is. It is a mountain forming and "A" with snow coming down it forming a "C" and an avalanche trailed by a puck. I used that and the secondary while also adding a new modern logo. The jerseys are simple but fitting. The 3rd jersey continues the trend with "Colorado" going across the chest but changed a few things. The shoulders have a "AC" in the same font as "Colorado".

Columbus Blue Jackets Rebrand

The Blue Jackets have gone through a lot since entering the NHL. There current jerseys are not bad at all. But they can be better. I think the current logo is way over looked in the NHL. I can't say who my favorite logo is but it is between a few teams including the Wild, Blue Jackets, and The Devils. You can go to icethetics and vote for the best NHL logo now!

Anyway, back to the Jackets. The logo is the Ohio flag making a "C" wrapping around a star. Pretty brilliant. I used that and made some logos of my own. I made a star in the design of the Ohio flag. I also made a more patriodic "C-Star". I continued the blue home jersey but added a red 3rd.

Enjoy.

Dallas Stars Rebrand

The Stars have a pretty nice logo. However, the RBK jerseys are....blah...
The home jersey is black and says "Dallas". The team's 3rd jersey is the same thing, but the jersey is white., not a cool color, not even a green jersey! Too many teams have black jerseys. I think some teams need a color that sticks out. The Flyers have orange, why not use the Stars for green? I used a similar logo, but I made it look a little more "starish" with using a different font and a little bit different star. The 3rd logo is a five-point star with "Stars" above it. I used a green home jersey, a white away jersey, and a black 3rd jersey with "Stars" across the bottom and on the side sleeves.

Edmonton Oilers Rebrand

The Oilers. Kind of a weird name, especially for a hockey team. However, I do kind of like it. The colors the team has right now aren't so great, in my opinion. The logo is alright, but classic. I didn't do much with the jersey or logo, but made some small changes for the better. I also added two logos that are very new and different to the team. Sorry for not having a 3rd jersey.

Very busy week for me, but I will keep adding rebrands. Don't worry, we'll finish...Spring Try-outs for both of us, wish us luck!

Florida Panthers Rebrand

It is hard to believe there is a NHL hockey team in Florida, let alone two. The Panthers have very tropical colors, and I kept that. I love all of the jerseys they have now besides the colors on the 3rd jersey. So, I made a blue and white jersey of the 3rd for the home, it doesn't look bad. The 3rd is a red version of the current jerseys. The logo is a head of the panther and I used the same secondary logo.

I have been working on a lot of differnt things/projects and hope to post them sooner than later. I will add details to the blog as I start winding down in the rebranding.

Enjoy!
